Adding a historical timeline infographic – options?

    I have a WP.com site that has recently been approved as my graduate school project – the subject matter is historical cartoons. I would like to add or purchase some type of visual infographic timeline – I am dealing with a lot of material and long bulleted lists are not very appealing. My timeline would include important events in history, and also perhaps thumbnails of images, which if clicked would open to a larger post. Can anyone recommend a plug in, or is there a premium theme that might offer such a feature? I need to make this site as visually interesting as I can. I will be featuring historical cartoons. Plan on including timeline of important legislations, etc. A horizontal, panning timeline would be wonderful.

    Hi Michele – I don’t know of a way to do that offhand, and it is not possible to install plugins on WordPress.com, for security reasons.

    You could create the graphic using Photoshop or something and upload it to your blog.

    You can also link any image (whether in your sidebar or in a post or page) to any page you want. You’d just choose Custom URL for the ‘link to’ option in the image settings and paste in any URL you want.
