Adding a hyperlink inside a category description

    Hello!

    I’m trying to help the administrators of the blog at http://www.opirgkingston.org with their site, and there is a problem with the links on the site.

    Right now, some pages present the description of the categories for the visitor to read, for example at http://opirgkingston.org/info/groups/quakc/ the box in the upper left corner that reads “Queen’s University Against Killer Coke (QUAKC) formed in 2004 as an autonomous…” is the category description for the QUAKC category.

    The problem is the link at the bottom which is supposed to go to http://www.quakc.org but in fact points nowhere.

    I edit the category description to put the link in properly by writing http://www.quakc.org. But when I save the category and go back to view what I wrote again I see that the “href=”www.quakc.org”” piece actually gets deleted somehow. I’ve dried numerous times with different syntax and it’s quite frustrating that the computer would “fix” what I typed. What I typed is “corrected” to http://www.quakc.org which of course is a link that points nowhere. Can anyone point out how I stop this from happening?

    This seems to happen to some categories, but not others.

    The blog at http://www.opirgkingston.org/ is not hosted by wordpress.

    This forum is for blogs hosted by wordpress on the wordpress multiuser platform.

    Are your referring to a wordpress.com hosted blog(s) in reference to the other links?

    It’s an important question because if the blog(s) in question has been downloaded from http://wordpress.org then this is the wrong place to come for support. In that case the place to go would be http://wordpress/org/support

    OPIRG doesn’t use wordpress.com to host their site and none of the links have much to do with wordpress.com hosted sites.

    Sorry, I’m new to WordPress so I don’t know quite how things work. I guess I’ll ask my question over at wordpress.org. I see they have a document there clearing up the confusion between wordpress.com and wordpress.org.
