Adding a ‘jump to top’ in the footer

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello!
I would like to add a little arrow or ‘to top’ text to the footer of this blog so the reader can jump to top easily.
I hope there is a block or template for that in site editor or somewhere? Or do I do it manually?

I have downloaded a little up arrow icon file.
I can use site editor to add it to the footer.
I am not quite sure where to put anchor text or how to link the image, to allow users to jump to the top.
I imagine there is probably a readymade block for that, so I don’t have to add an HTML anchor manually in each page or link to the homepage.

    Thanks for tips!

Hi there! You can insert the image you’ve uploaded as an image block and there’s a “link” button to turn it into a link. The link address should just be #top and that should do the trick.

It should look something like this (with your arrow rather than the WordPress.com logo!):

You can click the image below to test how it works!

For reference, this is the section of the Image Block guide which concerns turning an image into a link:

    Hello!

Thank you for the tip. That was simple! I just tried it (used the text ‘top’ for simplicity) and it worked perfectly!

    Thanks.
