Adding a link to a doc in a post
-
I went to “edit post” “add media” “from computer”, selected my file and uploaded it. I then expected to see a link in my post to this doc, I don’t see a link and can’t find the doc anywhere. How do I get it to show up as a link in the post? Or just show up anywhere? Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You have to link to it as if it were an image. Create your anchor text and link to the doc.

I see the file in my media library, and it says it is attached to the post I want it attached to, but when I look at the post, I don’t see it. What am I doing wrong? How do I figure out what it’s URL is? (I have successfully linked to URLs inside posts, and I see these show up in a different color and underlined.)
Is there a widget I can use to make it show up in the right column? If so, which one?
Sorry for all the questions, but this is only day 3 for me. Thanks in advance!

Jill, as I already said, after “Edit post”, “add media”, “from computer”, selecting file, and uploading, you need to click “File URL” before “Insert into post”. This is the way you get a link in the post – you don’t have to figure out anything else. And you only have to do that once: the uploaded will then remember your preference.
For a pdf you have already uploaded, you can either reupload it that way, or go to Media>Library and click Edit (beneath pdf thumbnail):there you’ll find its URL, which you can copy and turn into a link in the post.
