Adding a link to an image using image block.

I’m using the image block but it won’t let me add any links to my images. I’ve read that it needs to be added in in the ‘link section’ only this option doesn’t appear to exist. I only get the option to link to an attachment page.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hello @kirstyhopkins1,

You can add any link to your image in the image block. The options that comes after clicking on the link icon in the tool box, you see three options:

    1. Paste url or type to search
    2. Media file
    3. Attachment page

At this point, you can choose the first option. All you have to do is type or paste the link of your choice and click enter on your keypad. This will add the link to the image in the image block. Refer to the below mentioned screenshot link for a better understanding:

Hope this helps you add a link to your image in the image block outside the attachment page option.

Please feel free to write back if you need more help. Let us know how it goes!

    Hi

Thanks for you’re help. I see that option when I have a single image. However, I want to have multiple images in a row. But when I try doing in that way it puts them one under each other, rather than side by side..

I’ve been using the tiled gallery setting and what you’ve shown in the screenshot I can’t see the option to add URL. Is it possible to?

    Hello @kirstyhopkins1,

Thank you for those added pieces of information. I will try my best to answer your questions now.

Thanks for you’re help. I see that option when I have a single image. However, I want to have multiple images in a row. But when I try doing in that way it puts them one under each other, rather than side by side..

You can have multiple images that display in a row by choosing the Gallery block from the common blocks category. This allows you to add links to images and also they can be displayed in rows. It also allows you to even determine the number of images you want displayed in the column. Refer to the screenshot linked below to see an example:

I am afraid tiled galleries cannot be linked. I have tested this myself on the test site now, again, before responding to you here. Refer to the above section and choose a gallery option instead of a tiled gallery option. Once you have done that you should still be able to add links to your images.

Hope this helps. If this is not what you need, please reply to this post by telling us what exactly you wish to link these images to? Knowing this may help us give you alternate options if applicable.

    Hi,

    Thanks so much for replying.

I’ve changed to a gallery block and have now added the link in (its to go to another page on the website). Only the link web address shows over the image in white text.

Is it possible to have the text not showing? I want to be able to click on the image and it take me to a different page but with no text showing over the image.

Hope that makes sense. Thank you!
