Adding a login
-
I would like to add a login to the homepage of our site at the top, when I add a page to the menu bar the last page ends up on a second line and I do not like the way that looks. I would like something simple on the right hand side. How can I add a login?

You can add a meta widget https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/meta-widget/
However, you cannot create a fully fledged membership by registration site dole out username accounts and passwords on any wordpress.COM blog. For that type of functionality, you’d need a self-hosted WordPress.ORG software install running on a paid web hosting service.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins (passwords), features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
Also, note that here is no way to have paid memberships on a wordpress.COM hosted site. This guide will explain how to move your WordPress.com site to another hosting platform: Moving to a Self-Hosted WordPress Site https://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-to-a-self-hosted-wordpress-site/

I did not explain very well what I am looking to do. As a church we have a separate entity, Church Community Builder (CCB), which is a directory of our members and regular attenders. Currently the link to forward a person to this site is at the bottom of the page. I want to move it from the bottom to the top so it is more visible to ones who are not technically inclined. The right sidebar does not show on the front page and this is where I would like this link to be. I hope this makes a little more sense.
