This is a known issue with the New Post editor and apparently it is intentional (there was a staff reply to that effect in the main thread on this, but as that thread is already 20 pages long I can’t provide a direct link to that reply). I don’t use that editor at all, so I can’t tell you if it’s possible to get a blank page there aside from deleting everything manually. The main threads for issues pertaining to the New Post editor are here: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/new-post-editor-improvements?replies=5
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/beep-beep-boop-screen-is-a-joke-is-this-a-glitch/page/20I’d advise you rather use the editor under Posts ->Add New in the dashboard (http://hibernationnow.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post-new.php). That editor provides a blank page and contains all the features currently unavailable in the New Post editor.

thanks so much, i don’t know why everything gets so complicated. when did they change it? I switched back to “old mode” (there was an option to do that) and it lets me do it the old way. I tried it your way yesterday and it wouldn”t work either. but i will try again. Thanks again.

This changed some time last week. If the direct link I gave doesn’t work, simply go to your dashboard and click on Posts ->Add New in the sidebar. That should open the old editor for you. Using the link in the black admin bar now takes you directly to the new editor instead.
