  I need to build a new site with ecommerce through WordPress. How to get started?

  Hi there, to build an e-commerce website using WordPress.com you need a Business Plan that allows you to install plugins. For e-commerce plugin, it’s highly recommended to use WooCommerce which is developed and maintained by the same company that owns WordPress.com.

  Hi there @mwasherart, you don’t mention which WordPress you wish to use. :)

  Just to clarify, WordPress comes in 2 flavors: the fully hosted WordPressdotcom (where we are) and the open source WordPress (org) project at https://wordpress.org This support guide explains some of the differences between them: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ and hopefully will help you make an informed decision about which flavor will best serve your needs.
