Hello – No..but I did manage to get a Tiff file ( which I scanned ) and uploaded in my Media/Library dir. There is a column that says “Unattached” and a clickable “Attach” link but I do not want to mess up the site. I don’t know whether I should be using a tiff or another format. It is just a letter the Owner of the business wants to show on hte site.
They are a Veterinary Hospital
What I need to do is put a notice up on the site about Covid-19 is affecting the Veterinary Industry.
I am their IT for network/PCs/mail/ etc I put together their site but I am not a Web person per-se

Hi there,
If you are able to convert your doc to a pdf file, I believe that would be the best way to get the pdf easily embedded into your site. All you have to do at that point is upload the pdf into your media library, grab the URL of the pdf, and paste it into the page or post of your preference:
You can find the steps on our support page here:
https://wordpress.com/support/embedding-a-pdf-file/#embed-a-pdf-file
Please let us know if that works for you.
Thanks!

Hi..I can upload a tiff file to the Media Library
and I can view it.. What do not know for sure is how to make the that file visible when someone goes to the site.. I know I should either scan it or convert it to a PDF.
It was suggested that I create a LINK on my Home page to the Document I uploaded..We are a Veterinary Hospital…We have a notice we want our clients to see that explains the issues Vets are having during Covid-19.
I just don’t know exactly how to either make that Doc a Page on the site OR just create a link to it on our HomePage …maybe titled …”A Letter from Dr.xxxx and Staff”
You mentioned “Grab” the URL of the doc in the Library and “paste” on the site.. in my case – the Home Page.
I am concerned I may break the site and not be able to fix it.

The best option for maximum browser support would be to convert that to a PDF.
This might work for you: https://www.adobe.com/acrobat/online/convert-pdf.html

I believe I got it to work — I did get the PDF up to the Library and copied / pasted the URL link on my Home Page. Visitors will see text telling them to read the notice by clicking the link and the Letter does come up.
It’s not a refined or as eye catching as I would have liked it, but it does work and gets the message out..
Thank you all for your help and input !!

Actually – looking at the site again… Is there a way I can make the Title of the document the link – clickable ?? Right now – you see the Title of the Letter in RED and under that it says “Click this link to see the PDF ” That’s what I meant by it is not a pro looking as I liked.
It does work though – just looking to make it more presentable.

If you follow the steps starting at https://wordpress.com/support/embedding-a-pdf-file/#upload-a-pdf-file you can embed the whole document. It’ll be both immediately scrollable and downloadable.
If you want the file to just be a text link, please follow the steps at https://wordpress.com/support/links/
