Adding a Page Queston

I’m a novice at wordpress although I have built a number of websites. I seemed to be a stumped at trying to add a page so not all my blogs are just adding to the first page. For example, I would like 3 or 4 blogs per page and have a link to the previous blogs. I read support it says just place <!–nextpage–> into the HTML editor. So I go into one of my posts in the edit section, and I placed the code into the HTML part, but nothing happens, no link. Do I have to write a new post in order for it to work, what I am doing wrong?

When you say 3 or 4 blogs per page, do you mean three or four posts? Because you can set the number of posts displayed on the main blog under Settings.
Can we have a link to your WordPress.com blog, starting with http?

The nextpage function divides ONE long POST (or page) into several PAGES. It is not for making a page division on the posts page.

I meant “posts” per page…I located the settings where I can adjust the number of posts…I think that is what I was looking for all along…Thanks so much for your kind help!
