Adding a panel or page on the front page that displays my 'about' page

  • Unknown's avatar

I currently have the Affinity theme, and this is actually my second time starting from scratch with it after messing it up previously. I’ve gotten it pretty much to how I want the layout to be, except I would like to add my ‘About’ page to be displayed on the front page after the header. I tried adding a static page, but I want the static page to include my header with the image and tagline and then my about info and posts and I can’t figure out how to do that. I think I need to add panels, but not quite sure how to do that without messing everything up again. The site is http://www.diaryofawaitingwife.wordpress.com

  • Hi there,

Our theme support page provides instructions on how to set up the front static page to your liking:

When you first activate Affinity, your homepage displays posts in a traditional blog format.

To set up your static homepage, follow these steps:

    Create a page.
Go to the Customizer’s Static Front Page panel and set “Front page displays” to “A static page.”
Select the page created in Step One as “Front page,” and choose another page as “Posts page” to display your blog posts.
Good news! This theme doesn’t need a front-page template — set a static page as your front page, and you’re good to go. On its own, the page displays a single panel with a full-screen featured image; your site logo, description, and navigation; and your page content.

It also have instructions on setting up panels. Please take a look and let me know if you have any issues or questions.

    Thanks!
