Adding a Patreon Button

  Hi, I have recently set up a Patreon Page and simply with to add a ‘Support me on Patreon’to my website: https://angeladunning.wordpress.com/, can someone advise if & how I can do this? Thank you

  Hi angelakd,

  Where on your website were you hoping to put the link to your Patreon Page?

  If you are adding it to a post or a page you can add it as either a link or a button.

  You can also add the link as a custom link to your header menu. Here is a guide on how you create/edit Custom Menus: https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/, in the video there it’s shown how to add a custom link to a menu at about 0:56.

  Let us know how you get on with that.

  Thanks Henriette – I’ll take a look, I was hoping to add it as a widget in the footer but I can’t see a way to do that, I’ll explore the options you’ve suggested, thank you, Angela

  Hi Angela,

  In that case you can use the Custom HTML Widget for your footer: https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/custom-html-widget/ and then add the following HTML to the widget’s content:
  <a href="URLHERE" title="Support me on Patreon">Support me on Patreon</a>

  Replace the URLHERE with the actual link to your Patreon Page but be careful not to remove the quotation marks on either side.

  Hope that makes sense to you and let us know how you get on.

  Ok tried that but it didn’t work, here’s what I added to the content in the html widget:

  Support me on Patreon

  Hi Angela,

  I think it’s not working right because there are too many quotation marks in it.

  But now I have the link to your Patreon Page I can give you the exact HTML which you can copy/paste straight into the Custom HTML Widget content box, without changing anything:

  <a href="https://www.patreon.com/angeladunning" title="Support me on Patreon">Support me on Patreon</a>

  I see you have already added the link to your header menu, so that’s great.
