adding a photo or clipart

Is it possible to add a small photo or clipart near the title of the blog post? I am thinking it is because I have the ‘free’ plan, that I cannot – and must upgrade to premium. Every time I try this, the photo is put into the header and I have to remove it since I already have a theme in the header. Please advise. Tks!
