Adding a piece of your post to archives
-
Newbie here,
My blog is to be primarily about poetry. I hope to have at least one poem within each post and would like to add just the poem to archives with a descriptor if possible so that readers can click on the poem and retrieve it. Maybe archives isn’t the way to accomplish this. I’ve perused several such sites and they seem to be doing it in various ways…I just don’t know how. Thank you.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes, thank you. Don’t know how to get rid of that one.
Nevertheless, hopefully you can help me with the answer to the question. I’m obviously not typing the correct words into the forum search to pull anything up on it. -
The thing is, the archives is intended to contain the entire post. It isn’t designed to show only a select portion of a post and I can’t think of any workaround at all.

One solution might be a page with anchor links to the poems – see here:

Another solution might be switching to one og the themes that display independent Excerpts in archive pages but not in the main page: Albeo, Day Dream, Digg 3, Fadtastic, Misty Look, Neo-Sapien, Pressrow, Sandbox, Sandbox-10, Sapphire, Sunburn, 2813 , Unsleepable , Vermilion Christmas.

This is a technical support forum, and if you have a question then you are welcome to ask. If you want to promote your blog, check out the “Off-Topic” forum.
Also note that to write a clickable link to your blog, you must lose the punctuation: the comma at the end of your first blog link, and the two periods after the second. Otherwise the links don’t go anywhere.
Or better yet, read #2 on this link:

Oh yes, and one very important lesson to learn is “DON’T SPAM THE FORUM”. But we all know that, right?

Thanks much to everyone! I’m going to master this program if it kills me (and at my age, it might!). I did solve the problem at least to my satisfaction by using the Write a Book section in Support. Clicked on by accident really. Now I’m on to trying to figure out why my dashboard appears at the top of my page when I go into the blog like any other person would. This might be a “duh” thing, but gotta ask. Any comments?
