adding a post as a link to the sidebar

I’ve been looking for a way to add a post as a link to my sidebar rather than have the entire post appear on the page. In a related matter, I’d like to link this post (or any post for that matter) to keywords in other posts. I prefer these links to appear in other windows, as if I linked a web address. I’ve tried several options, but not getting result I expect. Am I attempting the undoable? Thanks!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Frankly, I do not comprehend what you are asking.

Sidebars are for widgets. We can post a Recent Posts widget in a sidebar and set it to provide links to up to 15 or our most recently published posts. http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/recent-posts-widget/

Is this what you mean or not? If it isn’t then please expand.

Timetheif, actually that is helpful just getting the terminology down. You probably didn’t comprehend because I probably don’t understand all the lingo yet. Anyway, the best way I can explain is to show. If you have a moment to look at http://rite2run.wordpress.com/ I’d like to move the second post “Rite to Run Boston” to the side, so do I make that a widget? Then, I’d like to link the post to some key words in other post. Does that make sense? I’ve also uploaded the article in Scribd and linked it but when you click on the link you only get the link, then have to click a second time (and I don’t want to send readers on a wild clicking spree and lose them). Thanks!

Other than copying and pasting the contents of a post in a text widget, I don’t know of any way to have a post in a widget. I think widgets are there to complement your blog. I don’t think they were meant to be used as a column for content.
