Adding a post without notifying followers or listing it on homepage – possible?

    Hi,

I would like to add some listings posts to my blog. I don’t want them to clog up my homepage though, or be sent out to my followers. Is it possible to add posts in this way?

    Many thanks

I’ve been wondering the same thing, but my test did not work. I had made it private when I started it. Then I backdated it and made it Public, then Update and it still notified my readers. Now I have to write a post to explain this. Sigh… I hope someone knows how to do this without notifying readers.

It used to be, but now I believe that trick no longer works. I don’t think there is a way, other than making them static Pages.

Thanks for the reply. That’s a bummer. I was trying to figure a way to “fix” a crawl error found by Google when I deleted a category. The only thing I could think of was to recreate that category. I then wrote a post using that category, putting in a link to the new one for anyone who might be sent there through a search. I did not think that post needed to be sent to my email subscribers.

Thanks for trying to help – that is a bummer. Oh well.
