adding a premium plan to a free account blog

Hi, I have a free of charge blog, and I would like to add a different premium plan for a different web site + domain.com. I have three questions:
    1. I will be charged only for the premium plan web site even my free plan blog will continue to exist?
    2. In the Premium Plan, there is no (email visible only to moderators and staff) included? I don’t need to use Google share, just an email for the domain.
    3. If I want two email addressees but I will be only one user, would that be charged two times?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    1. Yep, each site has its own plan. A plan on one of them doesn’t affect the others.

    2. You could try one of these options, including free email forwarding: https://en.support.wordpress.com/add-email/

    3. It depends on the provider, but usually some aliases (which go to the same inbox) come at no extra charge.

Thanks very much, the solutions indicated clarified a bit my questions. I understood different plans are not connected *e.g. urbanwhaletales blog will remain free, and I will be charged only for the new site I intent to create.

Nevertheless, still not clear for me:
I intent to register a domain and buy a premium plan for a new site. I understood the charge is annually.
In addition to the above charges, I need also for one user 2 email addresses (with my domain – specifically: (email visible only to moderators and staff), and (email visible only to moderators and staff)).
    1. Would that be possible with no extra-charge?
    2. Is there any way I can lower the costs for domain/site/email, or to pay on quarterly base? (I am a start up coaching and training business)

    Thank you in advance,
    Ramon

  • Hi Ramon, we don’t have plan discounts at this time.

But you will get a few free email forwarders, or you can use one of the free services listed here:

    Hi supernovia,
thanks a lot, it was very helpful, you answered exactly my question.
Just want to make sure I understood correctly, and if the new solution I am thinking of it is possible:
    – I already have a blog (urbanwhaletales – not business related) on a free plan – I already have created a new site (roundtablechrsolutions – will be business related)
As I didn’t started the business yet and there are no discounts, will be possible for me to do the following:

    1. To buy a custom domain through you on 18 USD / year, and map my site (roundtablechrsolutions) to this domain with a free plan?
    2. To add 2 emails on your free forwarding program with this free plan
    3. If in one or two months I see my business is getting results, to upgrade the already working site from the free plan to a premium one? Will still be the same 8,99 USD charge?
    4. How can I log in with the new site user name instead of the initial blog user name as this is personal and will not be connected to the domain I intent to purchase.

Thank you so much in advance,
    Ramon

  • Ramon, officially, we no longer offer custom domains with free plans. But you are welcome to register the domain here and see what is available.
    https://wordpress.com/domains

Also please note plans are always billed yearly.

If you have a domain you can use the email options I mentioned. I hope that helps.

Alternatively, you can set up your site without a plan or domain then upgrade when it’s ready.
