Adding a red bar 200px wide on the right hand side of the page (2015 Theme)

  I have a pretty well virgin install of WP using the 2015 theme, and I’m having a hard time getting a red bar down the right hand side of the page.

  I would like this bar to be the entire length of the page, and be on top of all other content.

  You can see how far I’ve gotten here. The bar appears, but not for the full length of the page.

  It looks like you are using a self hosted WordPress.org installation.

  This support forum is for sites that are hosted with WordPress.com

  WordPress comes in two flavours. WordPress.com and WordPress.org
