We don’t need CSS to add Gallery/Slideshow. Please check Galleries and Slideshows support document. Specifically, Adding a Gallery or Slideshow section.

Thank you so much for the response!
I wonder if there is a way for me to make my front page picture like this half of the picture is steady and the other half is slideshow.
I know I need to do CSS for this, right? Does my theme for my website support this kind of revision?I appreciate the response
Thanks

This is difficult to achieve with just CSS unless some theme supports it already.
Did you check any themes with slider that you may like: https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/post-slider/

Thanks for your quick response!
I did looked at your suggested theme; however, I am hesitant that I may end up doing more work later.
Anyway, the picture on my front page “Let Mother Be Thy Nature” I thought the size is bigger than normal. Is there a way, I can resize this to smaller scale? what is the suggested size for this? Should I use CSS?
I also want to add a slideshow below this picture, but I would like it stretch like the same size as the picture. -
You have this custom CSS setting the image width to 100%. Try to reduce the % and see if you like the downsized image.
.site-branding .header-image-link img { width: 100%; }Regarding slider, picking a theme that is closer to the slider format you like is easy and quick compared to tinkering CSS.

Sir, I have been so busy lately. I am sorry for the late response.
The CSS code you have given me is for the banner/header itself. This has been applied to my CSS already with another guy. I am actually asking for the main picture on the front page where I was standing on the mountain, caption “Let Mother Be Thy Medicine” I would want this picture to be resized. Do you have the code for this?Thank you so much :)

That image is sized to 100% of the content container area by design. I think it just looks too big because the image below it that says “The Beauty of Yoga” is too small and doesn’t fit the space allowed there and so it’s making the other image look too big.
If you adjust the size of the “Let Mother Nature Be Thy Medicine” image to be smaller, then you will have another problem when the yoga image is updated to something else.
Instead of making the “Let Mother Nature Be Thy Medicine” image, can you try using a larger yoga image as the featured image on this post to see what I mean?

Hi thank you so much for your quick response. I appreciated it. I think I found my new theme for my website https://wordpress.com/themes/simfo/ I am very interested to this theme because of the post slider. I would like to know your opinion as far as changing from my current theme to this new theme I am considering. Would this be a good idea? I wonder if they have a social media buttons on the front page?
Thank you
-
I think Simfo is a great choice. There are so many good themes here!
I found one example of someone using the Simfo theme at http://sunearthsky.com/ and I think it looks great even without the slider. Keep in mind the feel of the page will change a lot depending on what images you use, so good, high quality images would be a good thing to work on if you are going to use a theme that emphasizes images.
I wonder if they have a social media buttons on the front page?
I checked the theme page at https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/simfo/ and I don’t see any mention of social media buttons. However, it does have a few different widget areas and you could add social media icons to a widgets if you’d like.

Hi I already used a new theme for my website http://blissfulangelie.com/ thank you so much. Is there a way that I can have the banner extended on each end, meaning stretched out all the way to each side and on the top as well? Also, I see that the title for each post have bigger fonts, can we use CSS to reduce the size of these fonts?
Thanks
-
I don’t see a way to stretch the image to full width without making the entire content area full width, and I don’t think that will look very good.
For the fonts, there is an option to adjust the heading font size from the Appearance > Customize > Fonts panel directly. I would recommend using that option first. It will change the font size for headings on the home page and individual posts. Will that work? You have it set to 3 now, try setting it to 1 or 0.

Hi thank you for your help..
I wonder if there is a CSS code for the widgets that I recently added. I added two widgets so far FB and Follow Blog.
It looks perfectly fine on my mobile phone, but on the big screen it looks like the two widgets are one on top of the other making the blog posts towards the end. One should scroll down further to see the blog posts.
Could you please help me provide a CSS code in order for the widgets to be side by side? Other than the FB is on top of the Follow Blog. Here is the website @ http://blissfulangelie.com/
Thank you

I found that you asked this question in a separate thread and thesacredpath helped you at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/widgets-on-the-middle-of-the-front-page?replies=6 so I am going to mark this thread as resolved.
