Adding a tag to a published post

Hello – how do I add a tag to a published post? I normally add tags via the publish button, but once it’s already published I can’t see how to change tags (Sorry, aware this is a really simple question!!)

Hi there, yes, you can change or add tags to older posts on WordPress.com sites.

There’s a couple of ways to do this:

    1. Open each post to edit it and navigate to the Tags section in the right sidebar. Expand it if it is collapsed and make your changes. Remember to click Update to update your post. https://wordpress.com/support/posts/tags/#adding-tags-via-the-tags-module

    2. The second way takes place in your site’s WP Admin dashboard. If you have one or several posts to update, you can head to the Posts Dashboard. Hover your cursor over the post title and below that you’ll see “Quick Edit”. Click on that and you’ll see a place on the top right to add or change your Tags.

If you have several posts that you want to add or change the same tag for all the posts, click the check box to the left of the posts you want to change and in the drop down menu at the top of the column, select Bulk Edit.

Both these options are explained in more detail and with screenshots in this guide: https://wordpress.com/support/posts/edit-posts-screen/

Post back here if you have any other question about this..
