Adding a theme in WordPress 4

  Hey All

  I just setup a new site using wordpress 4 and i’m trying to add a new theme that is not available in the backend of the site. It is a free template off the internet. I’ve done this lots on a wordpress 3 site but can’t seem to find where to do it on 4. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  I’m sorry but you’re in the wrong forum. This forum is for support requests for WordPress.COM sites. The site you’re talking about is a self-hosted WordPress(.org) site, for which you can find the support forums here: http://wordpress.org/support/

  The site I am talking about is a wordpress.com site, not a self hosted site. Can third party themes be installed on a wordpress.com site? if so how?

  If you are using WordPress 4 – you can install third party themes and are in the wrong forum

  If your blog is on WordPress.COM, you are not using WordPress 4 and can not install third party themes

  my blog is on wordpress.com 100% for sure. My mistake thinking it was using 4. Thanks for the info confirming that third party themes can not be installed.
