  I created an author user in the wordpress website I have jetpack linked in and tried to log in with those credentials and it said email not found. So, I created this account with the email and do not know how to link it with the website I need the author to be posting in???

  To add authors you can go the link below:
  https://wordpress.com/people/team/yoursitename.wordpress.com

  Just change the yoursitename to the name of your site in the above link.
