Adding a widget
-
I’m trying to put this widget on my blog
<div><object classid=”clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000″
codebase=”http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,28,0″ width=”300″
height=”250″><param name=”movie” value=”http://www.getup.org.au/flash/widget.swf”><param name=”quality”
value=”high”><embed src=”http://www.getup.org.au/flash/widget.swf” quality=”high”
pluginspage=”http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash”
type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” width=”300″ height=”250″></embed></object></div>it just doesn’t work- I get nothing.
Is it because my theme VanillaMist doesn’t support flash?
do I know what I am talking about?
sadly -no, but would love some help
The instructions from GetUP are here: http://www.getup.org.au/files/campaigns/embedinstructions.pdf -
That’s flash code, and flash is not allowed at wordpress.COM due to security concerns. Forms, iFrames and javascript are not allowed for the same reason.

VanillaMist is not a theme available here at WordPress.COM, so I’m guessing your blog is self-hosted and you’re in the wrong forum. As panaghiotisadam suggested, read the two stickies at the top of the forum and it will help clarify the difference.
Cheers!
