Adding a widget

    I’m trying to put this widget on my blog
    <div><object classid=”clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000″
    codebase=”http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,28,0″ width=”300″
    height=”250″><param name=”movie” value=”http://www.getup.org.au/flash/widget.swf”><param name=”quality”
    value=”high”><embed src=”http://www.getup.org.au/flash/widget.swf” quality=”high”
    pluginspage=”http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash”
    type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” width=”300″ height=”250″></embed></object></div>

    it just doesn’t work- I get nothing.
    Is it because my theme VanillaMist doesn’t support flash?
    do I know what I am talking about?
    sadly -no, but would love some help
    The instructions from GetUP are here: http://www.getup.org.au/files/campaigns/embedinstructions.pdf

    That’s flash code, and flash is not allowed at wordpress.COM due to security concerns. Forms, iFrames and javascript are not allowed for the same reason.

    tsp emphasized COM in his reply. Try reading the two stickies at the top of the Forum.

    VanillaMist is not a theme available here at WordPress.COM, so I’m guessing your blog is self-hosted and you’re in the wrong forum. As panaghiotisadam suggested, read the two stickies at the top of the forum and it will help clarify the difference.

    Cheers!
