Adding a widget
-
Hi,
It’s been a while since I made any changes. I’d like to add a widget. In the sidebar, under the heading of ‘Mentoring Resources’ is the link ‘Adoption’. I’d like to add underneath that ‘Adoption II’ – a live link to http://www.helpwithadoption.com
Thanks for any help you can give,
DavidThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Be aware that if you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the site any and all widgets can be added or removed here
http://NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com/wp-admin/widgets.php
* Simply replace NAME_OF_Blog with the actual name of your blog in that URL.
Also, note that widgets have visibility settings that determine which pages they will be displayed on. See: Widget Visibility https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/#widget-visibility

Your theme is a very old retired them and the recommendation is to switch to a much newer one as themes are retired when they no longer support all wordpress.COM features.
You can browser 59 White + Light + Two Columns + Responsive Layout WordPress Themes at this link https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/two-columns+responsive-layout+light+white/?sort=free
re: switching themes
Note that switching themes https://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/#switch-themes can be easily done, provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the site. Themes are just “skins” on WordPress.COM hosted blogs.
If you are not logged in under the correct username account then clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies prior to logging into another account
If you do not have the required access and someone else registered the site you need to contact the person who registered the account and site under it and have them act.
The theme customizer https://en.support.wordpress.com/customizer/ provides a preview function for exactly that purpose ie. so you can view what a theme will appear like prior to changing one.
