Adding a widget through a source code

    I’m interested in adding a widget from another tool. I tried applying the source code into the text widget, but when I click on save the code alters and nothing appears on my page. (except for some of the actual code)
    Is there any way to apply widgets onto your page when you have the source code?

    Adding widgets via source code is mostly not allowed on WordPress.com blogs.
