Adding a widget under header

I’m looking to add a small widget under the header with short daily thoughts. I want this to be before my actual blog posts and I would rather not have a designated web page for it. Thoughts?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi,

In Baskerville 2 theme you have the provision to add widgets in the footer but not under header. You can purchase the WordPress.com Premium or WordPress.com Business plan for your blog, which includes a Custom Design feature that allows you to edit the look and feel of any WordPress.com theme.

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you.

You cannot add a widget area to the header with custom CSS, but you can move a widget from a sidebar or footer widget area into the header area in some cases, but this typically comes with drawbacks on responsive designed themes such as Baskerville and Baskerville 2. In Baskerville, and in particular on your site, you run out of room to the left and right of the title/tagline at about 1000px in window width, so you would likely have to limit the relocation to screens 1000px and wider unless the content of the widget would fit under or above the title/tagline.
