Adding a YouTube channel badge
-
I am trying to add a YouTube Channel badge to my content sidebar however whenever I click save the HTML code changes/ deletes itself and the badge doesn’t display.
I have been trying to add the following code as a Text widget:
<script src=”https://apis.google.com/js/platform.js”></script>
<div class=”g-ytsubscribe” data-channel=”WereLostInMusic” data-layout=”full” data-count=”hidden”></div>
Can anyone help with where I am going wrong please?
Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We cannot post JavaScript code for security reasons on WordPress.COM blogs. The software here strips the code out.

Aha thank you, makes sense now.
Do you know of another way to do this with a .com site please?

Sorry but no I do not have any bright ideas.
There is no ability to verify any WordPress.com blogs with youtube at this time. There is no blogger access to metadata and we cannot embed anything at all into the <header>. Please read this comparison http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you wish to add YouTube to your verified services on WordPress.com/Gravatar, you can do so here: http://en.gravatar.com/profiles/edit/#verified-services
You can add a Google Webmaster code for verifying a site with Google (which may be sufficient for YouTube, I’m not certain) in your Tools > Available Tools section of your Dashboard. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/verifying-blog-on-youtube?replies=7#post-1720894

@ kateandwendy,
I am trying to add a YouTube Channel badge to my content sidebar
Perhaps I’m misunderstanding. Why not use an image widget, or a text widget link?
