Adding a YouTube to a Reblog
-
I reblogged a post today and in my remarks I wanted to include a YouTube video referred to, but not included by, the OP. I could not do it. I can type in the code correctly and everything, and check that the video is embeddable, and no matter what, all that comes up is the written out shortcode. Why is this and what can I do about it? I’d like to make extensive, multi-media remarks when I reblog something instead of just some Facebook comment like “COOL” but this is really limiting.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can not modify a re-blogged post.
You can modify your own post and add a note or a video below it or create custom link back to OP.
See for example http://supernu.wordpress.com/2013/04/03/216/

I’m not TRYING to modify the reblogged part. I am trying to add a YouTube to my comments on the post. Try it yourself and you will find that you can’t add a YouTube to a reblogged post either, neither in your remarks nor anywhere else.
A link is not a YouTube video.

Bah, by “comments on the post” I meant “remarks” instead, my original part of the reblog.

I’m wondering if, because of the format of the reblog, with it OPENING on the indented reblog, there’s some sort of code wrapper that isn’t closed at the end of the blockquote and is carrying on, forcing my YT shortcode not to execute properly.

I’ve confirmed with our developers that the reblog note currently does not allow video embedding. We are looking into possibly adding this feature in the future. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
