Adding a YouTube video

  Hello,

  I’ve read the support page on adding a YouTube video and read I simply add the URL to a new line in an entry.

  Here is the result I got:

  http://happilyevercrafter.wordpress.com/2011/12/28/mega-mount-and-background-stamps-a-match/

  Did I do something wrong? Kind of new to WordPress. :)

  Here is the easy way of adding a youtube video.

  1. Go to new post, under the title, next to “Upload/Insert” click the camera icon. Then a pop up window should show up. Inside it, click the second tab “From URL”, then click the circle that says “Audio, Video, or Other File” and you can put in the youtube video url and your own title if you’d like.

  There’s two things you need to do to use auto-embed for YouTube videos:

  1. In your Settings>Media Settings make sure that the box to allow auto-embeds is checked and save your settings. http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/media-settings/

  2. In your post or page where you want the video to appear, paste the link on its own line but *make sure* that it does not appear as a highlighted link. If it does, use the unlink button to remove the hyperlink. http://en.support.wordpress.com/videos/youtube/#troubleshooting

  Jennifer, it seems like your point #2 was the culprit. Once I unlinked it, it worked fine. :)

  I am looking to embed a blog talk radio podcast onto my site. I had no trouble before when I had mysite.wordpress.com but now that I bought the domain through wordpress it only shows the link.

  Please help!

  I am trying to add in a code from my blog talk radio podcast and since I changed the domain it just posts link and doesnt embed the show.

  I think it doesn’t load it because I paid for the real domain which is a bunch of BS because I paid for the site and I can’t have what I want on it.

  When you purchase a domain mapping upgrade as I have done for my blogs you read the instructions and find that what your get is exactly what you psy for and nothing more. Did you fail to read this section?

  The why it won’t work is above my pay-grade – but the domain mapping upgrade only changes the name displayed – it should not change the ability to embed a video – I have a mapped domain and have been able to embed YouTube stuff without a problem.

  Go over the troubleshooting tips at the top of this thread.

  Adding a youtube video isnt my problem. The problem is I cant embded my blog talk radio code and have the regular program come up. The link just comes up.

  What is the actual URL of the BlogTalkRadio show you’re talking about? Maybe it’s not working because the URL has been changed.
