adding "about me"?

  i have stupid question,cos im a newbie to wordprees. i want to display a small box at the left of my page containing information about me along witha photo. how do i do that? just got a blog on wordpress few days ago so im kida confused.:P

  Set up a Gravatar account and then go to Appearance>Widgets and drag the Gravatar Widget over to your desired widget area. You’ll be able to enter text along with the image.

  If you like you can create an About page an post a longer gio as well as a blog desiption on it and link to it from the widget.
