Adding an editor to a blog site

  Hello! Me and my employer is having a problem in adding me as an editor to his website.
  I cannot use the username he is giving me, it says user does not exist.
  How do we solve this?

  Before we move forward on this, I’d like to let you know that if your website uses the self-hosted version of WordPress rather than WordPress.com, please post your question on the WordPress.org support forum: https://wordpress.org/support/ as this forum only supports the site hosted on WordPress.com
