adding an image from media library
-
I tried adding an image that I had uploaded to the media library. It appeared on the draft but the loading wheel kept spinning for about one half hour. I stopped it by going to another page. So it never appeared on the blog when I previewed it. The size I selected was medium. Is it normal for it to take longer than that? I should note that when I uploaded the file from my computer to the Media library I did not reduce the size. Thanks for your help.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No, that is not normal. Typically, depending on the size (file size) of the image, it should take 5-10 seconds. Do however optimize your images before uploading them to 72dpi and also make sure the file size is under 100k, and between 50-75k is even better. Also I always recommend that the width of an image you upload be around 800 to 1000px. All of these things make for a much faster loading site, and there are still a good number of people out there on slower internet connections.
First, log out of wordpress, clear your browser cache and cookies, restart your browser and then try again. On the image insert window that pops up you can click the “media library” tab and find the image.
Also, check the image size that you uploaded.

Thank you for your reply. I signed out and after a while signed back in and tried again. I think what I also did wrong was to click on edit the text before I clicked on add media. Anyway the second time I didn’t do that and it worked in only a few seconds. Next time I will follow your size guidelines. PS, still keeping it as a draft until I learn to use the set up process.

You cannot put images into comments on wordpress.COM sites. You can put a link to the image hosted somewhere else on the web, but you cannot embed the image in a comment.

For raincoaster, I would just say that firstly I am new here and second terms
my e-mail if someone would answer it, and that I should pay? for what it can not
be the sad answer, and it was also not what I expect thanks. For Thesacredpath I thank you for an honest and understandable answer is to comprehend
but the reason I directed this question was why it was possible in
my own comment page but not my friend, that ought to be the same for when it really
in my should it be the same for someone else? because that was in windows live space
but thanks for the friendly response Herluf Clausen. -
We always answer questions in the forums, because if you’ve had a problem it’s likely that other people have too, and the answer should be here for them.
And also because we’re volunteers. We’re not getting paid for this, so we need to reduce the workload.
There are two different kinds of WordPress, and they work differently. Not everyone’s blog is the same.

in my should it be the same for someone else? It’s possible for you to submit the link in a comment. It’s possible for the Admin receiving the comment to either approve the comment with the image in it or not. We all have control over comments and we can all use comment moderation to prevent spammers from auto-embedding distasteful and/or sexually explicit and inappropriate images or videos into our blogs via comments.
