adding an image in a comment

I am trying to add an image as part of my comment.
how do i do that. -

The easiest way is to insert an image in a page or post editor, copy the image code while in HTML mode, then paste that into your comment. Alternatively, you may create the entire comment in a page or post editor, and copy and paste the whole shebang.

Is it a comment on your own site?
Is the image in your Media Library or is it hosted somewhere online?Sometimes bloggers think they can post images into comments on another person’s site. That is not so. All one can do is include the URL to an image that is hosted somewhere online and hope the receiving blogger will approve the comment and post it.

P.S. The reason one cannot just post images into a comment box on someone’s blog becomes clear if you understand that if that was possible our sites would be full of unwanted porno images and advertising spam.

Good question. I read hastily and presumed the OP was referring to editing a comment on their own site.

It’s a question that’s not frequently asked and when it isn’t asked one can go around in circles so I barged in, knowing you would forgive me for doing so. :) -
OK to clarify, it’s not on my site….but I have seen others add images and gif as part of their comments on the blog.

Is it a WordPress.com site? Unless there’s some trick that I’m unaware of, on a WordPress.com site it’s not possible from the “front,” but it is quite easy for an administrator to add an image, video, etc. in the comment editor. I’ve just tried in various ways, unsuccessfully, to post an image in a comment the way a visitor might.
I’m sure there are non-WordPress.com sites which allow it. I’ve seen animated images, videos, etc. in comments here and there, and often wondered how it was done.

In a recent comment stream on another persons blog I noticed that someone had used a picture in their comment (not their blog either).
The comment was just a link that seemed to be to a picture in their photobucket account. Perhaps that is the way to add a picture? I don’t have a photobucket account, or anything like that, so my apologies that I can’t test before I suggest! :)

I’d forgotten. It’s easy to insert a video in a comment on a WordPress.com site, though whether it is published or not will depend upon various settings at Discussion Settings, and may depend upon an administrator’s decision, if comments are screened.
