Adding an image to a header
-
Why does adding an image to the header not work? No matter what I choose: editing the image or adding it as is, it does not register/is not added to the header. I’m on Chrome, on a Mac, OS X 10.8.4
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m also unable to edit my images under Media. Ugh! I just paid for WordPress, please tell me it isn’t usually like this & I don’t have to ask for a refund and get hosted elsewhere! No capacity to edit images at all!

Hi there!
There is a known bug in this theme with using a custom header image with header text. It’s been submitted to be fixed, but at this time I don’t have an estimate of when it will be fixed.
Regarding editing your images in your Media Library: what sort of editing were you trying to do? On WordPress.com, you have some basic editing options (crop, rotate, flip, and resize) available. Here’s a support document that explains each editing option:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/image-editing/If you were trying to do something else, let me know and I can see if I can help clarify what your options are.
I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any questions.

Huge bummer. I will be trying to get a refund today. I can’t very well start a blog when something as basic as adding an image to a header is impossible. Thanks for the info.

You can always switch themes! This bug only affects the Untitled theme – we have over 200 free and paid themes in our theme gallery:
http://theme.wordpress.com/In addition, with the Untitled theme, the header image is only 290px by 30px, which is only good for a logo, not a big and beautiful header image as it appears that you tried to upload. The bug I mentioned earlier only affects this small logo-sized area.
I think what you’re wanting to do is set up Featured Images for your posts and pages? If you look at the demo page for this theme:
http://untitleddemo.wordpress.com/The images being presented on the demo page are images that have been added as Featured Images to each post and are using the theme’s Front Page Slider setup to display them.
To set up Untitled’s Front Page Slider:
- Navigate to Settings → Reading.
- Scroll down to the section labeled “Featured Content”.
- Enter the name of a tag.
- Click the blue “Save Changes” button at the bottom.
- Create a post with a featured image that’s at least 1024px wide.
- Note: The featured image will look best at these dimensions: 1440px wide, 400px tall.
- Give the post the tag you declared under Settings → Reading → Featured Content.
Here’s more information on Featured Images for your reference too:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/If there’s anything else on that theme that you are interested in setting up, let me know and I’ll be happy to find the information for you.
I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any questions.
