Adding an image to menu bar

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m trying to create a menu much like http://www.theatlantic.com working off of the twentyten theme. I want to include an homepage linked image, search bar, menu, and links to social media. I do not need the advanced features in the drop down menu such as the photos (I’m quite happy with the standard drop down menu in the theme). I know enough about php, html and css to mess things up but not quite enough to figure this out on my own. My problem comes down to not being able to place things in the same horizontal space. I know this has got to be super simple but I’m stuck. If you could help me figure that out it would be much appreciated if you could give me some pointers to getting even close to the final project I would be ecstatic.
    —Thanks
