Adding an image to your domain link

  • Unknown's avatar

Hello! I want an image to appear when I type in my site’s website and share it with people. The link and name of my website comes up, but how do I set an image?

  • Hi there,

Are you speaking of when, for example, you share a link on Facebook?

I only see one site in your account, https://pswelovedyou.com/, and that site is connected to WordPress.com via the Jetpack plugin. If you have Jetpack’s sharing module enabled, it automatically adds the featured image for any page or post to the site’s open graph tags, which is where services like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn look for the image.

To also have an image appear for your homepage, you need to add a Site Icon to your site. You’ll find that option in your Customizer under the Site Identity tab.

If you have those set, and the images are not appearing, it means there’s something wrong with the meta tags that should declare them in your site header.

In that case, please contact Jetpack support at https://jetpack.com/contact-support/?rel=support, unless you’re using another SEO plugin like Yoast SEO – in that case please contact support for that plugin instead, because then that plugin would be controlling these meta tags, rather than Jetpack.
