Adding an online store to an existing WP site

I am thinking about selling artwork via an existing self-hosted WordPress site.
Ideally I’d simply like to add a page the website, where works for sale could be displayed, and that would allow customers to choose, order, and pay for them with a third-party service such as Paypal.
Physical prints only; no downloads. Fulfillment would be handled offline. There would be no need to keep track of inventory, etc. I just need to take orders and collect payment.
Does anyone have any recommendations as to the best way to accomplish this? Complete e-commerce newb here. Happy to be pointed to any good resources online.

On WordPress.com you would be able to achieve that with our Payments, or Pay with Paypal Blocks. On a self-hosted site, though, I’m not sure what could be done. There probably are plugins that would help you.

Most folks in these forums have a free WordPress site hosted here with us, and thus can’t install plugins without upgrading. And since the upgraded sites come with direct support, those users don’t typically hang out here.
