Adding an RSS feed

  • Unknown's avatar

I am new to blogs and have just set up my WordPress blog, I would like to know how to link to a RSS feed.
I installed the RSS widget then went to a blog site I use and clicked the box that said: XML RSS Feed, but that took me to a Google page to add it to Google Reader.

I would like to know what I am doing wrong.

    Thanks
    Jack

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Some people, for various reasons, try to get people to use a certain feed service, such as Google reader (one reason is that they can add adsense to the feed when you use Google).

Go to the website, and in your browser address bar, there should be an icon that will take you to the site’s original RSS feed. If you click on it, it will most likely resolve to an address starting with feed://. When you put the address into the RSS widget, change the “feed” to “http” or it will not work properly.

I’ve copied the url (http://…) of the blog that subscribes to RSS feeds in the widget in the side bar on my blog dashboard and clicked save on the RSS widget, but the RSS feed from the blog url I’veentered in the widget on my dashboard doesn’t appear in the side bar of the main page of my blog for some reason – I have several other RSS feeds that do appear OK. What’s happening?

There hass been a recent change of format to the widget page of the dashboard of my blog by wordpress – does this have anything to do with it?

We cannot help without a link to your blog, starting with http, and the full RSS URL that you were trying to use, starting with http.
