ADDING ANOTHER THEME

    I would like to change to a theme that I have downloaded that is designed for WordPress by Supernova Themes but it does not appear under my theme options. Instructions say i should go under Appearance—>Add New—–>Upload New. However I do not get the option to do so. Please help

    Hi there,
    This is a forum for sites hosted with WordPress.com. You cannot upload/install themes or widgets from third parties here. If you have a self-hosted site with WordPress.org software, then you can.

    Your username is linked to a site that is hosted by wordpress.COM. The Add New button for themes is not missing. It exists only on wordpress.ORG software installs. And, you are confusing wordpress.COM hosted blogs and wordpress.ORG installs on paid hosting.

    Be aware that there is no FTP access to wordpress.COM hosted blogs like that site linked to your username and no upgrade changes that reality.

    You cannot upload any custom themes or third party themes or create your own theme here. You can do that only on wordpress.ORG installs on paid hosting.

    The only themes we can use on WordPress.com hosted blogs are licensed and adapted to run on our multiuser software the themes are found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and in your dashboard at > Appearance > Themes

    There is no upgrade you can buy here that changes that.

    WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums.     For a wordpress.ORG software install on paid hosting if you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right-hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.
