Adding another wordpress user

  I am having difficulty adding another wordpress user as a contributor to my blog page. They do have a wordpress blog and sent me their “gmail.com” email addy. When I add this email addy I get this message: “That email address does not belong to any user here.” However this is their email addy.

  What is the problem? HELP!

  Is that email address the one registered to their WP.com blog? Ask them to check if they signed up with a different one.

  I asked them to check and it is. They even checked the spelling and added it again.
