Adding asynchronous snippets from google
-
I have blogger blogs and am setting up Google Webmaster tools. I am currently tracking my wordpress site with Google analytics but need to add asynchronous snippets to the html to be able to add wordpress blogs to the webmaster tools. It is possible to add a snippet to the code in the head section just above the body in blogger html but I can not understand how to access and add to the html in wordpress.com Tell me how or why I can not, please.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Thank you for your response. I have been struggling greatly to figure out how to integrate wordpress.com with Google’s Webmaster tools. The issue is : I am tracking my wordpress.com site with Google analytics. That’s right, I am picking up a different type of signal from a different type of snippet, apparently! This has added to my confusion!
It just does not happen to be asynchronous. -
TSP is correct. We cannot use Google Analytics on free blogs being free hosted by wordpress.COM. See here >
Can I use Google Analytics?
No, Google Analytics cannot be used on WordPress.com blogs at this time. http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/#additional-infoI don’t know what you mean by integration with webmaster tools. Have you verified your ownership of your blog yet with the major search engines yet? If not, please see here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/
For clarity please read > WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org > http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

Thank you timethief. In the midst of all the craziness that I have put myself through trying to get my blogs noticed, I have tried everything my puny brain could think of and the best place to hide something from me is in plain site, like the “Tools” page. I never scrolled down to the part that covers “webmaster tools” I have tried to put the meta code in places that I should never have tried. I just happened to go to my original post and found your reply and which relieved a major headache. I will add what is needed to the others below the Google entry point and see if I start to get some traffic! I have started submitting “sitemaps” to see if that would help. Is that a good Idea and do I need to list all of my posts or just a few?
Thank you again -
I also have a related follow-up question please.
The Google Webmaster tools or someplace else suggested entering the blogs twice, once as simply http://myblog…. and http://www.myblog…. is it a good idea to do this to see if one entry works better than the other address variation? I did this with my Blogger blogs but have not noticed any changes or difference. -
Please see here for how to verify your wordpress.com blog ownership with the big search engines that has been set up by wordpress.com and those search engines > http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools
Regarding site maps for wordpress.com blogs please see here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/sitemaps/
Regarding canonicalization I have no opinion to offer. Clearly Google gives the tag a lot of weight, but, at the same time doesn’t regard it as a piece of meta data gospel. :)
