Adding attribution to block quote feature

How do I add words after the end quotation mark in the block quote text feature?

    Hi there,

Depending on your blog’s theme, the way your quoted text appears will be a little different. I see that you are using the Chateau theme on one of your blogs — this theme automatically adds quotation marks around any of the text included in the block quote. To add an attribution, you will need to put it in the paragraph below the quote rather than immediately after the end quotation mark in the quoted text.

Other themes handle block quotes a little differently, so your options would be a bit different with them. If you have any other questions about this, please let me know!

Rachel, I really appreciate your response. I was so certain there had to be some sort of HTML code to add attribution outside the quote, but your explanation about the differences in theme templates helps. Thanks.

I’m glad I could help clarify this for you. :) Because the quotation marks are part of the theme design itself, there isn’t any HTML that you can add in the blog post to add the attribution after the end quotation mark.

If you want a little more control over how the theme looks, you could purchase the Custom Design upgrade and make changes to how the block quote is designed.

    Again, thank you.
