Adding Blocks on WP App

When using the website, on a blog post, you can add a Block by pressing + and selecting from a long list of types of Block. But on the WP app, when I press + I only have 6 Blocks to choose from….. How do you get the app to present all the different types of Block? Specifically I am wanting to select Gallery. I have enabled Blocks already and I tried setting the default format of the Post to Gallery but this has not worked.

I can add the Gallery Block via the web successfully but I can’t get it to work on the app for iPhone or iPad. The option does not appear- I only have the choice of inserting multiple Images – not a Gallery of images.
And when I view or edit blogs that I have already posted via the website with the Gallery Block, the app doesn’t display the Gallery Block properly – it just shows the Gallery Block logo rather than the photos I have actually already added – therefore I can’t edit the images via the app, only via the website.

Sorry, somehow my reply for another thread wound up here.
The mobile apps are not 100% on-par with the new block editor yet, this is because the new block editor was essentially built by contributions from hundreds of volunteers, while the small team of mobile app developers are working hard to duplicate all of that work.
The new block editor works well as-is on mobile browsers, so if you run into trouble with that on the app, I recommend just editing/writing the post in your browser instead.
