Adding Blog Posts
-
I am having trouble adding blog posts under my menu items. For example, at the top of my blog I have menu items called, “Home”, “My Adventures”, “Food”, “Fashion”, “Makeup”, and “Random Fun”. I added a blog post under “Food” yesterday and it posted without any problem. Today I posted another blog post and I wanted to add it under “Food” but I had to chose between the two different blog posts. Needless to say, I can only add 1 post under each menu item. How can I continue to add posts so all the ones I write show up?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
What is happening is they are ‘posts’, when with even the ‘sound’ of those ‘title’s’ you may want to consider ‘pages’ instead they would have a dropdown menu, like you’ll see at this Hemingway Rewritten Theme DemoIt seems your theme can use posts that ‘look’ like a ‘menu item’ perhaps or is it a ‘sticky’ post keeping it in that area? Either way, a ‘post’ cannot have a ‘dropdown’ attached post after post and so on.
Some more info on Posts vs Page
hope this helps somewhat.

So how do I make it where I can have the “food”, “fashion”, etc. tabs at the top of my blog and add posts to each of those categories?

Ok,
1: you can’t ‘add posts to a tab’ at the top (pages do that)
2: you can make a category and or tag dropdown / cloud to have in the sidebar
3: you’ve had me thinking of some ideas for you though, as I am doing something ‘sort of’ similar at the moment.
4: I didn’t want to make more pages though, so I’ve started Portfolios instead. That way it doesn’t ‘clutter’ up my home page etc. Portfolio’s group together under their own ‘tags and types’… you can see my ‘Recipe Type‘ here. It works similar to ‘categories’ but won’t show up in the reader… Also, you can ‘showcase’ your projects in a post and that way they will show up in the reader..
5: I guess you’d like the ‘posts’ to show up in the wordpress reader, hence you keep referring to posts, so that’s why I thought something like that may be of use.. so I hope I’m not confusing you.. I thought your blog looked interesting. Not knowing how ‘big’ you intend it to get (each section) just had me thinking :))
6: What if you were to make a page for Food, Fashion, Make Up, My Adventures, etc, etc… But all you ‘put’ on each of those pages were the ‘heading of each post’ (linked to that post) with a tiny intro…? Then you would ‘unsticky’ the posts you have at the top at the moment. Don’t forget the category cloud / dropdown will still help your readers as well, to navigate to the posts.
Also, easy to create a Custom Menu to have in your sidebar for quick navigation to any post, etc.
That’s what I’ll be doing for my recipe’s once I build on them.

Just checked, and you don’t seem to have any tags and categories..? You can use a combination of up to 15 in total.
For example, Recipes, Make Up, Travel, Journal, Blog, (maybe also tag some ingredients for the Recipes) otherwise: you won’t show up in the wordpress reader at all.
Hope some of this helps.

If it all gets a little much, you could always go for a different theme, such as a new one like ‘Apostrophe’ seems to fit what you’re after, it even groups ‘Categories’ automatically and at the top like a page… (if you make them for Fashion Makeup etc)
Here’s the link for more on that theme.. (it does mention you can have your own header image also)
good luck
