adding blog to domain
-
I did what you said in domain mapping. I checked on dnsstuff to see if wordpress was listed, and it was. I went into options/domains and inserted my domain name, and still said that I had to pay ten credits to get my domain name attached to my blog. There has to be an easier way than paying $10 to hook up my blog to my domain so that visitors to my site can get back to my site after going to my blog.

You can’t map your domain to the WP.com blog without paying the upgrade. You certainly CAN put a text widget in your sidebar with a link back to your main website; that’s easy.

Okay, how do I put a text widget in my sidebar. I’m a complete novice to this and would appreciate any help you can give me.

You’re welcome. It will work best if you keep that right at the top of the sidebar for visibility’s sake. If you haven’t yet made any changes to your sidebar, putting that widget (or any widget) in will wipe out the default arrangement of widgets. Just go to the box at the bottom and drag in the ones you want, arranging them in the order you want. Then hit Save Changes.
