What do you mean by a blog widgets? There are many widgets we can use for many purposes. They are all listed on this page. When you click the individual widget links you will find descriptions of what they are used for and instructions for installing them. Text widgets can be used to add text or HTML to your sidebar. A text widget can be used to display links, simple text, images, tables, CSS styled HTML, or a combination of these.

If what you are referring to is enabling blog subscriptions and displaying a blog subscription widget see:

?? Have your webmaster add a plain link to your WordPress.COM blog – how hard depends on how strict the cookie cutter site is built.

I’m told that there should be a widget within WordPress, that I can copy and past into my website……?

@maineproperties
Please note the page I linked to. There are many widgets there and all are for different purposes none of those purposes are for posting a widget to your website. The widgets are only for our free hosted WordPress.com blogs only. -
Hi, I would like to add a widget from another site. It’s a box recommending certain sites & I don’t understand how I add it. I need like an html widget?
-
maine properties, i know what you are looking for. I had one on my old website. Now I cannot figure out how to do it again. Everytime I posted a new blog it would show a picture, title, and excerpt from it. I don’t understand how nobody has been able to answer your question.

@darlacafe
Provided the widget contains clean HTML and no JavaScript or iframe code or any other restricted code it will operate on a WordPress.com blog. However, as you have not provided us with the code we cannot provide any specific help with this. Please post the code you want to use here between between backtick ( ` ) characters. -
maineproperties and valleyservices, the WordPress people don’t seem to understand that you want a widget that you can put on a non-Wordpress site. I don’t think WordPress supports this, though why not I cannot imagine, as it would bring more traffic to their customers. I’ve had success with 7feeds.com, though I just started having trouble with my widget from them and am having trouble getting a response from their staff.
Good luck!

I found what I used to use for my old website. It is on widgetbox and it is a free widget that you can put in a non-wordpress site. It is free as long as your don’t mind ads on it.

@valleyservices
Please do bot post links to widgets that cannot be used on free hosted WordPress.com blogs. Your site is not a free hosted WordPress.com blog and I suspect you are posting here because you are not aware of the differences between free hosted WordPress.com blogs and self hosted WordPress.org installs. The support forum for your software is here > http://wordpress.org/supprt/ and that where you can receive and provide support that pertains to your software. -
@maineprperties
I see you have taken my suggestion enabled blog subscriptions and are displaying a blog subscription widget in your free hosted WordPress.com blog’s sidebar. Here’s a link to the learn WordPress.com blogging tutorial prepared by Staff. Best wishes with your blog. :) -

We Volunteers on this site provide support only to those who are free hosted by WordPress.com. The WordPress.org support forum for those self hosting WordPress.org installs is locate here > http://wordpress.org/supprt/
