Adding border to images

  • Unknown's avatar

    You have changed the way I always edited the images in my blog, to include a border and to open in a new window. Despite your help pages, I can not find how to do it or where the “Advanced Settings” tab is. Please help, it’s driving me nuts! I would really like to have a default setting for all my images: with border, open in a new window. Is that possible? Thanks.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    In order to add/remove a border you can please switch to the Text Editor and this to your image code:

    border="2px"

    So a sample of what it would look like is this:

    <img class="alignleft wp-image-1264 size-none" style="margin: 50px;" src="http://gracetestaccount1.files.wordpress.com/2014/03/best-wordpress-templates-2014.png" alt="best-wordpress-templates-2014" width="206" height="202" border="2px" />

    You can adjust that 2px to any number to increase the border width. The number 0 will essentially remove the border.

    Our developers are also aware of this and are looking into bringing certain features back.

    1. thank you for replying and attempting to solve the problem
    2. what you suggested did not work. It shows a border on the visual editor, but not in the updated blog.
    3. The new version of wordpress is a gigantic step BACKWARDS in usability, even if this HTML solution did work.
    4. please accelerate the return of easy addition of borders to images
    5. please consider a default value which permits the user to always or never use borders of a given size, and to open the image in a new page. This would be a huge timesaver for bloggers like me.

    Thank you.

    We’ve registered your suggestion and will keep it in mind for future features and updates!

    Also, don’t forget the ideas forum, where you can discuss your suggestion with the WordPress.com community: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/ideas

    Regarding the border, could you please try adding this instead:

    style="border:2px solid black;"

    You can change the color to anything you want by using a Hex Color code: http://www.w3schools.com/tags/ref_colorpicker.asp
