Adding categories and custom fields not responding in post edit

    When I click +Add New Category, enter the new category name, and press the button, the new category text that I just entered disappears. I know that the category is added because when I go back to the page, it appears in the list of categories.

    ALSO:

    When I add a new custom field and click the button, the text I just entered disappears and I don’t get the familiar yellow flash to tell me that it’s been updated. And yes, it does record my edits because when I go back to the page the new custom field or custom field edits are there.

    I tried disabling plugins, but no luck so far.
