Adding code from non-WordPress sites to my site

I am a writer who will indie publish short stories beginning in February, and I’m working on a site to go live in a few weeks for my new publishing platform. I’ve created an email subscription list on List Wire and would like to add it to my site. When I created the list on List Wire it gave me some code to copy and paste into my site, but I can’t figure out how to make this work with my WordPress site. Is it possible to make this work?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

Please note that it will depend on the code. There are some code that is not accepted here on WordPress.com for security reasons. Take a look here to see if it is accepted:

    Code

If you aren’t sure, please copy/paste the code here and I can take a look!

    Cheers!

Hi, Grace, and thanks so much for your fast reply. The code I want to use is a Javascript code, which the Code list you provided says I can’t use. I guess, unless there’s some way around this, I have to find another way to accomplish my goal of building an email list that doesn’t involve using the code…?

Since I elected to make this forum topic public, I’d rather not copy/paste the code here if that’s okay.

    Hi there,

Yes, Javascript wouldn’t be allowed. The only way you could build an email list of some sort would be to add the Follow Blog widget to your site. Then, anyone who decides to follow your blog will receive an email every time you publish a post! Take a look at the link for more information.
