Adding column to Cutline theme?
-
Hi!
I’ve just started learning CSS and have some HTML experience. I’m trying to edit the Cutline theme in our blog so that we can add a column, on the left side of the page, much like the column to the right.
Does anyone know how to do this or where I should look first?
Thanks!

You can’t add functionality like columns to existing themes at WP.com. Your best bet is to pick a different theme that has the number of columns you want and use the CSS to change the look.

You could start out with Sandbox, which has nearly limitless capabilities and build from there. If you could find a sandbox skin that was near what you wanted, then you could further customize it easily. Take a look at the semantic skin by devblog that is on my blog here: http://opposablethumbz.wordpress.com/ . It is available here: http://sandboxskins.wordpress.com/2008/12/07/semmatic-for-sandbox/ .

Is there a way to overwrite the CSS so that I can put an image that links to another page on the left side, without creating a new column?
